Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, NY, is currently seeking an individual who is driven to learn and highly motivated, for the role of Billing Specialist, acting as an integral part of the Shared Services Accounting team. This position is a regular, full-time position.
The ideal candidate will have basic accounting skills, billing experience, accuracy, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. The Billing Specialist is responsible for processing up to two hundred invoices per month.
This includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Process monthly, quarterly, and yearly milestone invoices.
Bill progress, cost plus, and time and material related contracts.
Research contracts and purchase orders for proper funding.
Submit invoices to the customer and/or upload to external payment processors.
Process intercompany billings.
Troubleshoot, find answers, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Compensation Range: $19.48/hr - $22.89/hr

Preferred but not required, Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
1 to 2 years of experience in an accounting discipline or business environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Oracle eBusiness Suite experience helpful, but not required.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Solid written and oral communication skills and analytical problem solving.
Sound and consistent business judgment, a good grasp of Company priorities and a sense of urgency.
High level of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, the ability to remain flexible to meet internal and external needs.
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
