AWS Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a motivated, enthusiastic AWS Infrastructure Engineer

Your Role:

As a member of the Saab Safety & Efficiency Team, you will be on a team that is responsible for the Service Infrastructure (AWS Cloud environment).  You will work closely with the other Network/Infrastructure Engineers and the Aerobahn Site Engineers to ensure that the infrastructure is functioning optimally for customer use.  The Service Infrastructure currently supports the deployment of the Aerobahn Product Suite to approximately 25 domestic customer sites. Aerobahn also has turnkey systems fielded at multiple international sites. Additional responsibilities include the support of the software development infrastructure (VMware).

Compensation Range: $69,100 - $84,600

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Multiple operating system and network technologies require support and development as part of this position.  The following includes a list of many of the technologies used to support the CDM & Efficiency infrastructure. It’s recommended that prospective candidates have familiarity with many, but not all of these technologies and areas of responsibility:

Virtual Infrastructure (AWS, VMware)

  • Template creation/management

  • EC2 / VM management

  • Patching of EC2 / ESXi hosts and upgrading AWS and VMware tools

Network/Cisco Infrastructure

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent knowledge preferred

  • WAN/MPLS Routers

    • Includes: Routing, NAT, EIGRP / RIP, GRE, VPNs on Cisco routers, ACLs / Statefull firewalling, and Firmware updates

  • Palo Alto Firewall

    • Working understanding of PAN-OS and familiarity with firewalling concepts, security policies, NAT, routing (both static and BGP) and IPSEC VPN.

Linux Infrastructure and administration (intermediate or higher knowledge preferred)

  • CentOS (RPM-based package management)

  • DNS

  • SMTP

  • NTP

  • Apache

  • Postgres

  • Ansible

  • Nagios

  • Shell scripting: BASH, PERL, AWK, SED, etc.

Windows Infrastructure (intermediate knowledge sufficient)

  • Active Directory

  • User management

  • Group Policy

  • MS SQL

Aerobahn application support

  • Network (TCP/IP) troubleshooting

  • Linux system administration help

  • Shell scripting to automate tasks and support the backend of the Aerobahn server.

  • Intermediate understanding of the Aerobahn application design.

  • Customer after hours support coverage (on-call via cell phone at least part time)

Backups / Disaster Recovery

  • Document and maintain Disaster Recovery plans/procedures

  • Disaster Recovery testing

Security

  • Support 3rd party security audits

  • Nessus Vulnerability Scanner

  • Patching

  • Log review/monitoring

  • Firewall maintenance (both Palo Alto and iptables)

  • Account expiration

Routine Maintenance

  • Regular review of logs

  • Stay abreast of critical security issues and patch accordingly

  • Monitor backups and resource utilization

Development/Test/Integration Lab Support

  • Lab inventory and organization

  • Hardware installation and maintenance

  • UPS maintenance

  • Cisco switch configuration

Documentation

  • Wiki updates

  • Organized, communicated, searchable knowledgebase

  • Visio diagrams for all aspects of the infrastructure
     

Recommended Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in information technology or computer science or related discipline

  • 3+ years’ work in a technical/network environment

  • Network+ Certification or equivalent

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
