Business Development Director (Part-time, On-Call)
Saab is seeking a part-time, on-call Business Development Director to support business development vision, strategies, and tactics for the Autonomous and Undersea Systems Division. The successful candidate will:
Develop new market initiatives and manage customers and related partnerships.
Evaluate business opportunities to define and optimize product portfolio and/or research and development efforts.
Combine business area objectives, technology trends and market needs into specific initiatives and activities.
Analyze market data to identify trends and opportunities and develop strategic direction from market information.
Support technology direction as it pertains to core business and provide that direction across teams.
Identify strategic development process initiatives and drive the adoption of core technologies and architectures.
Significantly influence key business and technical stakeholders and contacts.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, technical or related discipline is required. MBA is a plus.
Must have a keen understanding of customer technical requirements and ability to influence technical solutions.
15+ years of Business Development in the defense industry and/or relevant military air operations.
Knowledge of DoD acquisition process and government procurement policies and procedures.
Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision.
Outstanding leadership, communication, strategic planning, Voice of the Customer and relationship management skills.

Create competitive approaches and counter solutions to meet market/customer needs.
Communicate and present results and content to customers (internal or external) and/or others.
Regularly explore and recommend new businesses and models required for success.
Effectively utilize marketplace contacts and outside stakeholders to influence the company's market position.
Regularly engage and leverage other internal key stakeholders to meet business needs and objectives.
Support proposal teams to winning solutions.
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
