Co-Op, JAVA Infrastructure (Systems) Engineer (Summer 2023)

Job Description:

Responsibilities and learning opportunities may include:

  • Design and integration of JAVA messaging and mediation services on a nation-wide enterprise cloud platform

  • Perform analysis of messaging / integration requirements to determine solutions and customizations

  • Install, configure, deploy and troubleshoots issues on middleware messaging for applications in a complex, multi-platform environment (z/OS, Linux, Windows); interacts and consults with development teams on technical issues

  • Configuring ActiveMQ, Weblogic and Solace Brokers from an infrastructure perspective, including performance monitoring, integration functions, delivery status and network management

  • Participating in technical reviews and status meetings

Skills and Experience:

  • Familiarity/experience with ActiveMQ, Solace and/or WebLogic Messaging and Mediation

  • Familiarity/experience with Linux is a must have

  • Familiarity/experience with Scripting including SQL, PowerShell, JSON, and Python

  • Familiarity with Messaging Middleware/Integration – Understanding of the application middleware space

  • Familiarity with Microsoft, SQL Server, Oracle, virtualization, monitoring including APM, and Linux

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in engineering or computer science

  • Completion of Sophomore year or greater

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
