Saab Inc.'s Surveillance U.S. Division is in search of motivated, enthusiastic Engineering students who are interested in applying their studies to real-world product development through a paid Co-Op/ Internship opportunity.

Saab, Inc. is currently looking for Spring 2023 (January - April) Software Engineering Co-Ops. Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, you will:

  • Actively participate in the software development for Radar systems.

  • Work with senior software engineers to design and develop modular, configurable software that can be used on multiple programs.

  • Participate in internal technical meetings and design reviews.

  • Collaborate with software lead for task planning and scheduling of own activities.

  • Students should be majoring in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering for this discipline.

  • Prior experience in Java or C++ software development, and object-oriented experience is required.

  • Desired experience for the Software Engineer Co-Op: UML modeling tools for illustrating the software design, software development in a Linux environment, utilizing a unit test framework, and Subversion (SVN) for configuration management.

Skills and Experience:

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program focused in an Engineering or related discipline.

  • Completed sophomore year or greater at time of hire.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Prior Co-Op experience is preferred, but not required.

In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing  expenses for Co-ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Pre-employment Screening Requirements:

As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to meet the following criteria: (i) pass a drug screen and (ii) be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (unless granted an accommodation permitted by law and then in compliance with Saab’s requirements related to the accommodation, if any).
