Saab is in search of motivated, enthusiastic engineering/science (software, electrical, math, and physics) student(s) who would be interested in putting their studies to real-work practice through a Co-op/Intern opportunity at our Collamer location in East Syracuse, NY for Spring & Summer 2025 (January - August).

As part of the Surveillance Air Traffic Management group, you would be working with our Systems, Software, and Test Engineers to support and develop products which are used throughout the world for safe and effective air traffic operations.

Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:

  • Conducting and supporting product integration in a laboratory environment

  • Performing system and data analysis and propose solutions to customer problems

  • Developing software tools to make product development and deployment more efficient

Compensation Range: $20-$22/hr
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2-3 years working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, computer science, or mathematics from an accredited institution or relevant military education & training

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.


Expertise Desired:

  • Familiar with systems containing software, firmware, and/or electronic components

  • Matlab, C++, Java or other programming experience

  • Linux and/or IP networking system skills

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
