Job Description:
Saab Inc. is currently searching for self-motivated enrolled engineering students to conduct systems integration and implement test methodologies on Web Services technology to support the nation-wide Federal Aviation Administration Enterprise Network Services (FENS) infrastructure transformation program.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on leading-edge technologies to build and deliver a dynamic, highly available and secure information management system for the Next Generation Air Transportation System. As a Co-Op Systems Engineer on the team, you will have the chance to work with a diverse group of internal and external team members, spanning numerous disciplines and all experience levels.
In addition to a competitive hourly rate, Saab Inc. offers a sign-on bonus to off-set housing expenses for Co-Ops residing outside the typical office commuting distance.
Role and Responsibilities
Participate in design, architecture, planning, support and any other technological duties associated with the Web-Services environment.
Perform analysis of messaging / integration requirements and associated hardware requirements to determine solutions and customizations.
Configuring ActiveMQ, Solace, WebLogic, K8S from an infrastructure perspective, including performance monitoring, integration functions, delivery status and network management
Configuring adaptors from an application connectivity perspective
Install, configure, deploy and troubleshoot issues on middleware messaging for applications in a complex, multi-platform environment (z/OS, Linux, Windows); interacts and consults with development teams on technical projects and issues.
Compensation Range: $20-$22/hr
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Skill and Experience
Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in engineering or computer science
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
US Citizenship Status
Must have completed Sophomore year or greater.
Desired Expertise:
Knowledge/awareness in either ActiveMQ, Solace Messaging, Oracle WebLogic, and/or K8S Administration
Knowledge/awareness in either Oracle AQ, JBOSS Messaging, Open MQ/Open JMS, and/or Django
