Combat System Engineer - EME specialist

Do you have a strong engineering background with experience in electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC), some experience in system engineering and an ability to solve tricky problems? Then this position might be looking for you!
We are looking for additional system engineers to join our group of highly skilled Combat System professionals that is looking forward to introducing new colleagues to the team. Our business is growing and we are currently working on many interesting and complex naval combat systems for customers in several countries operating on different ship classes.

Your Role

As a Combat System Engineering /Integration (CSE/I) engineer, specialization in EMI/EMC, you will be part of projects delivering total naval combat systems to the end customer. We integrate all systems, sensors and solutions that together give the required capability to the customer. Combat system engineers are the ones responsible for integrating all the systems into a system-of-systems solution. You will be responsible for EMI/EMC-related activities, including the evaluation of systems being integrated as well as on integrated topside design. This work includes taking part in various workgroups, including the EMI/EMC workgroup and the topside design workgroup. These groups’ mission is to assure that the systems can be integrated and, if needed, design solutions and lay out the ship to make them work together.

The ability to take responsibility for the execution and successful completion of assigned tasks within time and budget is essential.

You will be working in a given project and must thus enjoy teamwork within a competent and motivated team.
As a CSE, you will work closely with the Technical Project Manager who has overall responsibility for the Combat System technical solution to the project.

The main tasks are:

  • Executing EMI/EMC-related tasks as a member of the project team, including top deck layout and design

  • Managing suppliers of specialist EMI/EMC services

  • Executing the assigned CSE/I tasks as a member of the project team

  • Technical requirements analysis

  • Concept definition

  • Interface definition and requirements

  • Combat System Integration requirements and processes

  • Ensuring that the necessary documentation and quality requirements associated with the tasks are fulfilled

  • Working with the technical representatives of the various sub-supplier organizations to ensure their best possible technical solution and support.

Your Profile

You are a confident communicator in English. You share information in a clear and easy way, verbally and in writing. You have a collaborative mind-set and you are a true team player. You will be working in a given project and must thus enjoy teamwork within a competent and motivated team.
 

You are self-driven and result-oriented with a “get the job done” attitude. Curiosity and the ability to learn new technical areas are necessary attributes for the role.

The ability to take responsibility for the execution and successful completion of assigned tasks within time and budget is essential.
 

We believe that you have a solid technical background with a wide technical knowledge base.
 

Required skills:

  • Formal degree qualification in Engineering

  • Experience in EMI/EMC-related activities in naval systems or product qualification

  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC-related MIL and other standards

  • Experience in working with system/solution design

  • Experience in technical and solution trade-off analyses

  • Experience with working in integrated project teams

Desired skills:

  • Experience in integrated topside design

  • INCOSE based System Engineering experience

  • Interest/experience in Naval Combat Systems

  • Experience with customer-based acceptance processes

  • Experience in the naval domain and or defense industry is an advantage

The position will require travels within Sweden and internationally, depending on the program phase and requirements. This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
