Saab in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Depot Specialist to join our team supporting worldwide customers of our diverse line of civil aviation, security, and defense products and services.
The Depot Specialist will provide responsive support for hardware and information needs to a variety of customers, maintain inventory and records, secure vendor repairs of parts and equipment, communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding support status and repairs, and work with the team to ensure seamless, professional support of all customers.
This includes participating in robust teams and processes that:
Provide reliable 24 x 7 x 365 support for customers,
Respond appropriately to customer issues,
Monitor company- and customer-owned parts and equipment using multiple systems,
Maintain precise, complete, and accurate records,
Communicate with individuals and groups across the entire organization, and
Comply with Saab SOPs and work instructions.
This role requires collaboration with personnel from all areas of Saab, as well as external vendors. The successful candidate must be reliable and possess attention to detail, flexibility, resourcefulness, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to maintain focus/resume tasks with repeated interruption.
Responsibilities will include:
Receive, process, ship, and inventory control of Saab-owned, Customer-owned, and Government-owned parts and equipment.
Establish and manage Depots for new contracts.
Communicate with repair vendors.
Replenish inventory using Saab purchasing systems.
Recordkeeping relating to inventory, parts processing, financial transactions, and status of repairs.
Conduct physical inventory and cycle counts.
Assure accurate inventories.
Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with computer systems and software, such as Excel.
Forklift experience is desirable.
Must be reliable, have strong organization and time management skills, and ability to multi-task and follow up on action items/requests in a timely manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Focus on providing quality support and accurate information.
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
