Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Project Engineer to lead the design, development, prototyping, and deployment of sensor systems solutions using engineering best practices in support of next generation radar programs.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead the technical development and execution of a next generation radar program, working with a team of business development, product development, and engineering
Coordinate the, proposals, and business plans, in the execution of the program tasks and strategies for existing programs
Coordinate proposal preparation (programmatic, technical and cost) for future programs
Drive the identification of new business opportunities and develop new product roadmaps
Manage programs within schedule and budget, and lead risk and opportunity management
Collaborate across the functional organizations within Saab in the U.S. and across the global corporation
Manage internal Saab investments that align to the specific product line development.
Mentor Engineering Program Management (EPM) and junior engineers
Skills and Experience:
Master’s degree in Engineering, Math or Science strongly preferred.
15+ years of experience related to Surveillance Systems.
20+ years working with Department of Defense (DoD) customers, specifically Army, Marine Core, and Navy customers.
Proven project leadership with Radar systems.
Demonstrated responsibility for program execution and product development strategies, leading teams in the aerospace and defense industry.
Previously demonstrated leadership management skills with cross functional experience.
Strong business acumen.
Proven customer relationship management skills.
Demonstrated ability to interact and influence customer, key stakeholders (internal and external to the organization).
Able to communicate and make presentations to senior leadership within the company and customer communities.
Strong analysis skills and abilities.
Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for systems engineering processes.
