Engineering Systems and Tools Administrator

Job Description:

Saab, Inc., has a new opportunity for a dynamic, results-oriented individual as an Engineering Systems and Tools Administrator to support the Saab US engineering departments.  You will be an integral part of our Information Technology team, working closely with the engineering disciplines across several Saab US businesses to support, manage, and optimize the engineering suite of applications used at Saab, Inc.  You will help drive significant continuous improvements through standardization, automation, and workflow enhancements.

The Engineering Systems and Tools Administrator will support and maintain engineering applications such as the Atlassian and Ansys suite of applications, Altium, codebeamer, CST, DOORS, and other engineering applications for Saab, Inc.  This includes the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of these tools to ensure they are functioning optimally and meeting the needs of the engineering team while also providing technical support and training team members on their use.  Strong knowledge of the listed tools is preferred, as well as excellent problem-solving and communication skills.  The Engineering Systems and Tools Administrator will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of engineering tools and applications for Saab, Inc.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Evaluate, install, configure, and maintain engineering applications and tools.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues related to these applications.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for software usage and licensing.

  • Maintain and renew engineering application licenses.

  • Monitor and maintain system performance and security.

  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to the engineering tools and processes.

  • Collaborate with other members of IT and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of engineering tools.

  • Ensure data integrity and backups of engineering tools.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in engineering tools to ensure the company is using the most efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role supporting engineering tools and applications.

  • Experience with range of COTS products or equivalents including: Altium, Ansys Suite of Tools, Atlassian Suite of Tools, Codebeamer, CST, DOORS, Genesys, GitHub Enterprise, MagicDraw/Cameo, SVN, Teamwork Cloud, Teamcenter

  • Experience operating in NIST 800-171 standards environment.

  • Experience delivering secure system architecture and achieving ATO for both development and operational systems.

  • Experience working with large DoD programs including multiple stakeholder communities.

  • Strong understanding of system administration and security best practices.

  • Industry certifications with tools/environments/standards.

  • Experience with Linux administration.

  • Excellent communication and training skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
