Job Description:
Saab Inc.'s, Autonomous and Undersea Systems division is seeking an innovative and experienced Engineering Technician to support Engineering and Manufacturing teams through prototype, implementation, engineering test, and production for autonomous Unmanned Surface/Underwater Vehicles (aUSVs/aUUVs, AUVs) and Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This position is onsite and will sit in our Cranston, RI facility.
Position Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot circuits and assemblies using oscilloscopes, DMM's, logic analyzers, or other specialized test equipment.
- Solder/rework PCB's, cables, and other electrical assemblies using knowledge of workmanship standards
- Build engineering prototypes in support of engineering development activities
- Build low volume production units in support of the manufacturing organization
- Execute tests of engineering and production assemblies based on test plans
- Write test reports and communicate results of work to engineering and manufacturing teams
Compensation Range: $61,700-$74,000
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of relevant experience
- Experience may include comprehensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies
Desired Requirements:
- Associate’s degree, technical/business school, or equivalent; may vary by functional area
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience may include advanced support skills and extensive knowledge of tools, software and other technologies
- Prior experience with DoD or with U.S. government customers is highly desirable.
- Experience working on products for Naval and Marine applications.
- Familiarity with Military Standards, ruggedized equipment, and environmental test procedures.
- Familiarity with electrical and mechanical assemblies for autonomous surface and underwater systems.
