Saab, Inc. is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer to support the FoFTS-Next program. As an Associate System Engineer on the team, you will have the chance to work hands-on with a diverse group of internal and external team members, spanning numerous disciplines and all experience levels. This position will contribute to lifecycle Systems Engineering activities for the program.
The United States Marine Corps (USMC) Force-on-Force Training Systems-Next (FoFTS-Next) program will provide the training tools needed to prepare Marines for any contingency, anywhere.
Responsibilities Include:
Work independently on routine tasks and with moderate guidance on new or complex tasks
Perform simple analysis of basic requirements
Identify appropriate integration and test methods
Identify and propose methods to mitigate technical risk
Support the development, test, and integration efforts of the program
Present results/content to internal and external customers
Develop and maintain appropriate documentation in accordance with Saab processes and customer mandated System Engineering CDRLs
Contribute to the development and refinement of system engineering processes as needed
Assist with the deployment and optimization of the system, resolving technical issues as appropriate
Assist with the required acceptance tests
Maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout the lifecycle of the program
Develop an understanding of applicable company products and technologies, and intellectual property protection and security procedures
Contribute to professional, high-quality documentation
Some travel (up to 25%) CONUS and OCONUS is required
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline is required
Experience in systems using complex mix of hardware and software to deliver program requirements
Experience in Live Training Domain (Combat Training Centers, MILES or equivalent training systems, RF communications infrastructure) is preferred
Ability to specify interfaces including physical characteristics, electrical characteristics, and communication protocols
Experience with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, Visio and Power Point are required.
Familiarity with integration and test techniques
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships in team environment
The ability and willingness to support all phases of programs from concept development through final acceptance is required. This will often include on-site support for surveys, installation, configuration, integration, optimization and acceptance testing
Must hold or be able to obtain U.S. DoD SECRET security clearance
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
