Human Resources Professional - Recruiter
Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual for an entry level Human Resources Professional - Recruiter. As a Recruiter you will be responsible for the hiring of highly qualified individuals within a defense and security technical industry. The ideal candidate is extremely organized, responsive, and efficient and can follow standard operating procedures closely.
As a Recruiter you will focus on managing and executing the full cycle recruiting process, responsibilities include:
Partners with managers to understand their staffing needs, specific skills and experience needed for the role. Assists managers in reviewing appropriate job postings and training managers to utilize manager self-service Workday system and interviewing as appropriate.
Consults with managers the strategy to fill the position by establishing external recruiting sources, to fill the relevant pipeline.
Partners with hiring manager on an on-going basis to ensure that the resume flow is sufficient. Monitors and tracks candidate pipeline.
Participates in management level panel interviews as appropriate.
Partners with manager to discuss potential candidates and qualifications.
Reviews recommended candidates for offer and ensures qualifications align.
Discusses salary requirements with candidate and develops salary recommendations using internal and external data analysis.
Completes offer process and ensures hiring manager understands on-boarding process.
Ensures recruitment system (Workday) is appropriately maintained for data integrity and legal reporting requirements.
Acts as the liaison for new hires throughout the onboarding process including necessary forms, and conducting orientation as well as the relocation process as appropriate
Acts as the POC for all matters concerning external contractor and recruiting agencies, including staffing agency agreements, Contractor assignments, and direct hire recruiting.
Coordinates and participates in external recruiting events and job fairs.
Responsible for tracking and reporting metrics on key staffing activity.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate must possess:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business or a related discipline
3+ years’ experience in recruiting or related area of work preferred
Fundamental knowledge of employment law and best practices
Working knowledge of the tools of the trade: resume databases, social networking, sourcing tools
Demonstrated experience developing collaborative
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong PC skills and ability to learn applicant tracking/HRIS systems Workday
Ability to represent SAAB in the community at recruiting events
Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
