At Saab Aerospace Systems in West Lafayette, IN you have the opportunity to join a team that will manufacture the rear section of the T-7A Red Hawk military trainer aircraft for the United States Air Force. When at full capacity, Saab will employ over 250 employees in the West Lafayette facility.
Our West Lafayette team is currently looking for a dynamic and driven on-site Human Resources Generalist/ Recruiter. In this role, you will be not only responsible for the recruiting, hiring and on-boarding process at our state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facility, you will be challenged to drive progress and support HR initiatives for the operation. Responsibilities include:
- Assists hiring managers in reviewing appropriate job postings, strategizing recruiting efforts, and driving for efficient staffing process-flow
- Manages the full-cycle candidate experience, including initial screening, panel interviews and testing, extending job offers, and employee on-boarding
- Coordinates communication and scheduling for the production intake process, panel interviews, aptitude testing and consensus discussions
- Trains new leaders on the recruiting process and the Workday requisition process
- Partners with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, and the specific skills and experience required for their roles
- Coordinates and participates in external recruiting events and job fairs
- Facilitates the staffing and execution of the facility’s summer internship program
- Collaborates with local high schools to build a talent pipeline through local CTE programs
- Completes local salary analysis, using internal and external comp data
- Manages employment eligibility verification compliance
- Impacts and contributes to a culture of employee engagement and high-performance work team
- Maintains local orientation materials and employee communication resources
- Supports site HR Manager with HR programs and initiatives.
- Reports on data analysis for employee pulse surveys, recruiting dashboard, HR metrics and other projects as requested
- Provides generalist support including assistance with employee inquiries, employee relation matters, and back-up coverage for HR Leader

COMPENSATION RANGE: $61,600- $75,500
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline
- 2+ years’ experience in recruiting
- HR experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong PC skills (MS Suite), including proficiency in Excel (pivot tables)
- Proven ability to be a subject matter expert with applicant tracking/HRIS systems; experience with Workday is a plus
- Ability to accurately and independently multi-task in a fast-paced environment is critical
- Critical thinking skills to manage processes and drive business results
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Proven problem solving and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of HR tools including: applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, E-verify, and social media recruiting sites
- Demonstrated experience developing collaborative partnerships at all levels of an organization, and documenting HR best practices
- Excellent communication and documentation skills, able to easily engage with team members. Responsiveness is critical.
- Ability to effectively deliver presentations in employee meetings
- Experience with staffing a start-up operations is a plus
- Ability to occasionally work extended or flexible schedule to support business needs
