ILS Support Manager, Poland

We are now looking for an ILS support manager to our new office in Gdansk.

Your role

You will have a clear responsibility for managing and supporting the Integrated Logistic Support areas of the project.

We are looking for a person with high cooperation qualities that can contribute with drive, enthusiasm and ability to communicate and clarify complex technical solutions. We believe that you have high interest in customer collaboration and a good understanding and knowledge about military regulations and standards related to the Integrated Logistic Support area.


The role also involves supporting ILS and Training Manager and others team members within the assigned project to deliver the programme on time and on budget. You will report to the Deputy Programme Director Poland. The role requires
an independent-minded person willing to contribute as member of a wider team.

Travelling including overnight stays in Poland is required. Travelling abroad, mainly within Germany, Denmark and Sweden, is required at least on a monthly basis.

Your profile

  • Professional background in the area of EW/SIGINT, Combat System and Combat Management Systems, Communication systems or ship platforms is preferred;

  • Knowledge of Polish Navy maintenance concept is required;

  • Understanding of polish military Technical Publications and Ministry of Defence decisions (especially Decision MON No 155 dated 07.11.2022);

  • Understanding of basic ILS terminology;

  • Understanding and knowledge of Systems Safety;

  • Understanding of NSN codification;

  • Assist End Users personnel in planning, performing operations, preventive and corrective maintenance activities and troubleshooting;

  • Guide End Users personnel in the correct use of technical publications, S&TE and safety procedures;

  • Support End Users in the definition of spare parts and S&TE that might be required;

  • Customer and end user interaction;

  • Support managing the contract scope;

  • Technical customer support;

  • Technical Docs flow supervising;

  • Tech Docs coordination;

  • Ensure that the customer receives the agreed ILS delivery with high quality and satisfaction;

  • Support to conduct meetings within the agreed collaboration model;

  • Attend customer meetings;

Your experiences and skills

  • Academic/Technical, military or other relevant education.

  • Being part of a new shipbuilding process for the Navy in the past is preferred.

  • Demonstrates good leadership and team player skills.

  • Experience and/or knowledge in Defence EW, Command & Control, Comms systems is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Polish military standards and regulations is required;

  • Knowledge of Polish Navy maintenance concept is required;

  • Comprehensive technical system-of-systems knowledge in the military naval domain, including joint capabilities.

  • Possess a positive and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.

  • Able to work independently with a strong personal drive.

  • Excellent social skills to build up and maintain interpersonal, business partner and customer relations. Act as a role model representing Saab towards partners/customers and stakeholders in order to strengthen the brand and profile.

  • Fluent in English (at least B2 level) and in Polish language is reguired.

  • Your skillset enables you to plan and coordinate effectively and efficiently to keep focus on priorities and deal with several complex issues simultaneously.

What you will be part of

  • Business area Surveillance offers world-leading sensor technology in monitoring and decision support to protect against threats. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, C4I solutions, aviation systems and cyber security.

  • You will be part of LSI (Lead System Integrator) organisation which is responsible for the Programme Management. The overall purpose with the LSI organization is to manage all aspects of the contract towards the customer with support from the different Saab Business Units

  • Country Office Poland has its main office in Warsaw and has a satellite office in Gdynia. Saab Technologies Poland Sp. z o. o. (STPL), 100% owned by SAAB AB, was established in 2009 and is now recruiting a ILS Support Manager to its new Gdańsk office.

This position requires that you will be approved in a security vetting in accordance to ISO:27001.  A Personal Security Clearance (PSC) is required to fulfil the tasks for the role (SECRET/NATO SECRET is preferred). If you don’t have a PSC already, the procedure for PSC application will start shortly after start of your employment.
