The role
As part of the Infrastructure team within our Civil Solutions group, the Infrastructure Automation Engineer will play a key role in assembling, deploying, configuring, commissioning, and delivering complex ICT infrastructure systems to meet requirements for current and future Electronic Security projects, centred around Saab’s OneView physical security information management system.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the deployment of discrete ICT infrastructure components with a focus on automation, utilising COTS software and bespoke hardware.
- Provide advice and technical reviews as a SME for designs, documents, configurations and other artefacts as needed.
- Travel to sites locally, interstate and overseas as needed
- Create and review documentation to ensure key design decisions and implementation details remain consistent for the business
- Estimate plan and proactively status progress on allocated work, and contribute to and coordinate with others to ensure the successful delivery of services as required
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Professional experience in an ICT or technical role, dealing with customers, end-users and contractors
- Experience in the following:
- Scripting in languages such as PowerShell and Python
- Configuration tools such as Ansible, Chef, and SaltStack
- Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
- Version control such as Git, including release and branching strategies
- Experience with enterprise software or production infrastructure as code highly regarded
- Technical experience in any of the following tools and technologies is desired:
- Operating systems including both Linux and Windows
- High availability & redundancy solutions
- Public and hybrid cloud such as Azure, AWS, VMWare, and Nutanix
- Server and container based virtualisation solutions
- Windows workstation configuration & management i.e. Dell
- Enterprise networking such as HP, Aruba, Dell, Moxa, Cisco, and Fortigate
- Physical and cyber security principles including vulnerability management and risk assessments
