Saab's Surveillance U.S. Division in East Syracuse, NY is in search of motivated, enthusiastic Engineering students who are interested in applying their studies to real-world product development through a paid Integration & Test Engineering Co-Op/ Internship opportunity for the Spring 2022 semester.

Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, Integration & Test Engineering Co-Ops will:

  • Develop/ derive subsystem requirements, as well as establish and maintain traceability of these requirements in the project’s requirements management environment.

  • Contribute to the development of integration plans and checklists based on these requirements and other system design documentation and conduct integration activities in accordance with these checklists.

  • Discover, investigate, and solve problems related to complex software/hardware systems.

  • Develop, document, and executing test approaches and procedures.

  • Assist in hardware and software troubleshooting.

  • Assemble and/or upgrade lab environments.

  • Applies acquired knowledge from relevant coursework in an accredited degree program to real-work practices.

  • Job duties will vary, but are designed to meet the development needs of the student, as well as, provide a medium for the completion of transactional tasks.

Skills and Experience:

    • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a major in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related discipline.

    • Completed Sophomore year or greater at time of hire.

    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

    • Prior Co-Op experience is preferred, but not required.

    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

    • Willingness and excitement to learn and take on new challenges.

    • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

    Pre-employment Screening Requirements:

    As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to meet the following criteria: (i) pass a drug screen, (ii) complete a background check that will include, at a minimum, a criminal record check, and education and employment verification, and (iii) be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (unless granted an accommodation permitted by law and then in compliance with Saab’s requirements related to the accommodation, if any).
