Saab, Inc. has openings for the role of Integration & Test Engineer. Our ground-based surveillance systems encompass all forms of detecting and tracking aircraft while in flight and on the surface of airports. We specialize in the development of integrated systems, the fusion and display of critical information, and the design and deployment of elegant solutions. As a critical member of the team, you will support the integration and testing of these products for customers from Adelaide to Zurich. Note that this is NOT an aerospace, avionics, or mechanical engineering position. Work is primarily focused on radar system integration and software verification and validation. The location has flexibility, depending on your experience, with the ability to work remotely or onsite in our East Syracuse, NY office and airport facility.
Responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
Discovering, investigating, and solving problems
Developing, documenting, and executing test approaches and procedures
Conducting hardware, software, and system integration
Troubleshooting anomalies
Participating in technical reviews and status meetings
Crafting test scenarios using various simulators
Performing data analysis
Creating, updating, and validating test tools
Assessing compliance to product specifications and international standards
Interacting with internal and external customers on technical and programmatic issues
Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a major in an engineering discipline, computer science. physics, or math (other majors considered with relevant skills/experience)
3 to 15 years of work in a technical environment
Required Skills:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows applications
Ability to manage a dynamic workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
Clear, concise, and correct written and oral communication, including grammar, spelling, and composition
High standards of quality and attention to detail
Desired Technical Skills:
Experience with software and hardware integration methodologies
Experience with software and hardware test methodologies
Expertise in problem decomposition, root cause analysis, and risk analysis
Familiarity with Jira and Subversion
Familiarity with MATLAB and/or LabVIEW
Familiarity with Python, Java, and/or C++
Familiarity with Linux and TCP/IP networking and protocols
