The role

As part of Saab’s role on the Hunter Class Frigate Program, the Interface Data Manager will play a key role in furthering the development of the Hunter Class Combat System, specifically as it relates to the platform’s combat system interface definition and design. This role will be based at the Osborne Shipbuilding Precinct in Adelaide.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Plan and manage the development of interface definition across the Hunter Combat System Integrated Project Team (CSIPT)
  • Manage the preparation of interface documentation to meet the delivery schedules of procurement and Mandated Design Reviews
  • Based on the T26 Interface policy, develop and maintain the Interface policy for the Hunter Combat System. This includes developing an interface policy to cater for the diversity of GFE to GFE, GFE to procured and procured to procured system interfaces within the Hunter Combat System
  • Co-ordinate and coach the system owners within the Hunter CSIPT in the preparation of interface documentation in accordance with the Hunter Interface policy 
  • Define and lead the auto generation of Interface documentation (ICDs) from System Architect content as defined by the interface policy
  • Develop and lead the maintenance of low level interface documentation (IFS / IRS) for the Hunter Combat System

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary engineering qualifications in a related technical discipline
  • Experience in the engineering of system solutions across the systems engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience relating to functional integration of systems with a preference for those used within the Maritime environment
  • Demonstrated ability in internal and external stakeholder management, including with the customer
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the system engineering process and SE outputs produced over the SE lifecycle
  • Demonstrated awareness and ability to address whole of capability/system issues, such as safety and supportability
  • Well-developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work with others in a team environment.

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
