Job Description:

Saab in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Lead Internal Communications Professional to develop and implement a Saab U.S. internal communications strategy while ensuring alignment with the global brand.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Partner with business leaders throughout the organization to ensure communication to employees reflects best practices and aligns with overall internal communications strategy.

  • Equip teams across the organization with communication templates, best practices, and other useful resources.

  • Lead the development and implementation of plans to operationalize the internal comms strategy and communicate key initiatives to employees, leveraging existing channels and standalone tactics as appropriate.


  • Create and manage content for organization-wide intranet.

  • Write and edit content for internal newsletters.

  • Integrate brand themes into employee onboarding.

Executive Communication:

  • Draft talking points, remarks, executive speeches, and regular CEO employee communication.

  • Develop presentations for CEO and division level All Hands Meetings.

  • Translate financial results into meaningful data and narratives for employees.

  • Draft executive level briefings for Head of Corporate Affairs.

Employee Engagement:

  • Working with the Events Director, plan regular, inspiring employee engagement events.

  • Build a U.S. specific employee brand identity in alignment with the global brand.

Video & Creative:

  • Utilize video to create and capture content.

  • Recommend and skillfully apply creative internal communications methods and formats.

  • Manage outside creative vendors, ensuring compliance with budget and schedule.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing or related discipline is required.

  • Minimum of 10 + years of relevant experience in Communications, including writing for multiple audiences, creating and implementing multi-channel communications strategies.

  • Exceptional strategy, planning, and writing skills.

  • Meticulous attention to detail in writing and editing.

  • Experience successfully managing multiple priorities and responding to urgent, near-term opportunities as well as meet longer-term objectives.

  • Strong communications skills and ability to work well with senior leaders across the organization.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with other communications staff and provide constructive feedback to writers and content creators.

  • Mastery of video production and editing equipment, tools, and software.

  • Knowledge of HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Episerver, social media platforms.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills, experience working across multiple organizations, and management of external agencies.

  • A willingness to travel domestically and ability to work independently. Potential for international travel to Sweden 1-2 times per year.

  • Experience working with the U.S. Department of Defense is ideal but not required.

Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
