Saab Inc. is seeking a Lead Network Design Engineer to act as the technical leadership for a team that’s designing, building and supporting systems that keep air-travelers safe 24/7/365 all around the world. You’ll contribute to discovering diverse network solutions for our customers internationally.
You'll have the chance to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
Your responsibilities will include:
Developing, designing, building, testing and commissioning networks that support our systems
Constantly looking for ways to improve our products- technically, documentation, ease of use, reliability, serviceability
Supporting our customers with troubleshooting, technical refresh (upgrades)
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to provide an exceptional product and customer experience
Demonstrating expertise in Software/Operating System Configuration, Network Design/Configuration and Troubleshooting.
Developing tools and scripts to support various configuration and monitoring activities.
Participating in processor and switch selections.
Developing and implementing alternatives for process improvement.
Demonstrating strong planning and organizational skills.
Prioritizing incoming tasks and ensuring proper resource assignments.
Providing mentoring and technical guidance/coaching to others.
Skills and Experience:
10+ years of engineering experience
5+ years of network design experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline is required.
Experience with Cisco devices and network communications protocols and Network Security.
Preferred Cisco Certifications:
CCNP Enterprise – Core Exam – Implementing and Operating Cisco Enterprise Network Core Technologies (350-401 ENCOR), Implementing Cisco Enterprise Routing and Services (300-410 ENARSI) and Designing Cisco Enterprise Networks (300-420 ENSLD).
CCNP Security – Core Exam - Implementing and Operating Cisco Security Core Technologies (350-701 SCOR), and Securing Networks with Cisco Firepower Next Generation Firewall and IPS (300-710 SNCF).
Experience with design and configuration of wireless equipment is preferred.
EION and Cambium equipment is a plus.
