The role
As part of our Maritime group, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for continual development and delivery of nation-wide contracted maintenance services of the Saab in service combat system elements of the Royal Australian Navy. This position is responsible for the management of separate regional teams in SA/WA/NSW to achieve an optimum maintenance service and ensure a consistency of quality outcomes.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Reporting to the Sustainment Manager, provide leadership to each maintenance team to deliver contracted services for maintenance management. This scope includes the Saab combat system elements, including ANZAC/LHD/AOR (and future OPV) Command and Control, Fire Control System and Primary Search Radar equipment for ship and shore installations.
- Responsible to enhance and mature our nation-wide maintenance solution across RAN fleet/class.
- Develop and maintain the principle Maintenance Management Plan.
- Deliver efficiencies by using best practice maintenance solutions and provision of performance reporting on outcomes to the business.
- Manage and maintain resource loading to ensure Saab’s commitment to deliver against forecasted demands and surge events. Manage prioritisation of tasking with internal and external stakeholders to level work loading across teams.
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Minimum 10 years Maintenance related industry experience for RAN assets.
- Detailed understanding of maintenance support solutions that align to Plan Galileo/MSM requirements.
- Expertise with team leadership and management of small teams.
- Detailed understanding of ASDEFCON (Support) suite including Support Services Management Plan (SSMP), Engineering Management Plan (EMP), Maintenance Management Plan (MMP) and Integrated Support Plan (IMP).
- Ability to undertake periodic travel interstate and/or overseas
- Certificate III in Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Trade
- Certificate III in Training and Assessment
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
