The role

As part of our Land group, the Maintenance Manager – Deployable Health is responsible in ensuring that the Deployable Health Capability Defence equipment that ranges from Medical and Dental equipment to Hard and Soft Shelters is maintained and kept serviceable for Defence use.

The role will be based at the Deployable Health Capability Support Centre near Ipswich. This facility has been established to ensure that Defense Deployable Health Equipment is stored and maintained to ensure availability when the Defence Force needs it.

Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Plan induction requirements based on analysis of RI failures, and planned exercises
  • Ensure that the established procedures that ensure Technical Maintenance Tasking, workloads and practices are adhered to
  • Ensure technical maintenance is conducted IAW the Land Material Safety Manual, current and authorised technical data, and that technical maintenance is correctly recorded and the records maintained
  • Determine spares pool shortages and submit recommendations for purchase of additional assets.
  • Determine requirements and submit recommendations to the Commonwealth for exchange/disposal of BER/BFR items
  • Produce the Annual maintenance Plan
  • Liaise with warehouse staff on induction and receipt of RIs.
  • Manage the deployment of Field Service Technicians to conduct planned maintenance of Defence Medical Assets at Defence Operational Units
  • Liaise with the Commonwealth Senior Maintenance Manager to ensure they are informed of any significant issues

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • 5 years’ demonstrated experience in inventory management of spares and RI’s.
  • Working knowledge of Defence MILIS, IFS or similar Maintenance and Inventory Management systems.
  • Ideally you will have a trade (Mech/Elec) background with experience in either the Army/Airforce technical environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and at least three years maintenance management experience
  • Demonstrable knowledge of analysis and requirements for both spares and RIs.
  • Performing the preparation and maintenance of project technical plans and technical data/documentation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence people
  • High level of self-motivation and ability to organise and manage workload and coordinate with the requirements of internal customers

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance.
