Maintenance Trainer

We have a vacancy for a Maintenance Trainer. We are looking for a strong individual, with problem solving skills and who is able to work as part of a team. This position requires someone who is self-motivated and disciplined.

Your role

Development of SGD Maintenance Training offering that includes the analysis of customer training needs, development of maintenance training material and training devices, drafting of training plans and the presentation of maintenance training courses to customers at the appropriate maintenance level.

  • Ensure that the Training Plans are completed per programme and comply with the contracted baseline and deliverables (includes main equipment and support & test equipment) 

  • Ensure that the Training Material Development are completed per programme and comply with the contracted baseline and deliverables (includes main equipment and support & test equipment) 

  • Perform a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) per programme in order to determine and capture all maintenance training requirements and data 

  • Present Maintenance Training Courses as per contracted maintenance level on main and support & test equipment 

  • Develop training devises that will enhance the SGD training offering and ease the burden of transferring knowledge to customers 

  • Authoring of Service Letters, Technical and Service Bulletins per program 

  • Authoring of Technical Publications per program on an ad hoc basis when the Technical Author is not available or overloaded 

  • Participate in the development of the SGD training offering (workgroup) 

  • Support the Logistic and Safety Engineers with technical advice and inputs regarding safe and sound maintenance techniques and procedures that will enable the ease of maintenance and training 

  • Adherence to company business management systems, policies, procedures and best practices of ILS management. 

  • Provide the required support to Product Areas and other groups who interface directly with clients 

  • Assistance in identifying and evaluating vendors as part of the development and industrialization process.  

  • Inputs into budgets, quotes & tenders, in support of the ILS manager 

  • Responsible for effective and efficient timesheet management (recovery of hours)

Your profile

Required skills:

  • Knowledge regarding EW and Avionics products and their operational environments

Desired skills:

  • Experienced trainer & practically inclined (previous technical HW & SW exposure, maintenance technician) 

  • Logistics & System Safety Engineering and Technical Authoring will be an advantage 

  • Systems Engineering knowledge / experience will be an advantage 

  • Project and Product management experience

Qualification:

  • Technical qualification (Minimum requirement: National Technical Diploma – Electronics)

  • Management or leadership training 

  • Specific software tools training (e.g. Test Bench software programmes, Maintenance Tools software, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, IFS, etc.)
