Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is currently seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Manager to join the team. This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting and play a strategic role in overseeing many key accounting functions.
Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directly manage and lead a team of accounting personnel focusing on staffing, performance management, and career development.
Provide accounting guidance over transactional areas of accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Manage timely and accurate processing of supplier payments and customer billings.
Lead monthly and year end close activities for assigned transactional areas.
Oversee year end supplier tax reporting.
Support a variety of financial and compliance-based audits.
Develop standardized polices and lead core business process improvements.
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Support upcoming ERP implementation project.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA or MBA preferred
10+ years accounting experience including supervisory experience.
Strong leadership experience able to lead a small team with responsibility for execution, accuracy, and results.
Familiarity with Oracle ERP systems (or other ERP systems) with the ability to extract, organize and maintain accurate databases.
Experience with ERP systems implementation and project management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Solid written and oral communication skills and analytical problem solving.
Sound business judgment, ability to discern Company priorities, and sense of urgency.
High level of enthusiasm, adaptable, and intuitive while managing internal and external needs.
Knowledge of government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) a plus
