Manager, Aircraft Maintenance at Saab in Linköping

Your role

Our current Section Manager is moving on to new challenges within Saab. Therefore, we are searching for a new Manager to lead the section Aircraft Maintenance with focus on special mission aircraft maintenance and modifications like GlobalEye, Saab 340/2000 AEW&C and line & base maintenance support to Saab corporate flight. You will be responsible for a team of approx. 70 persons (including three group managers) located in Tannefors/Linköping. Support with technical personnel as well as recruitment of technical personnel to our support contracts abroad is also within the responsibility.

We are looking for an experienced Manager with good knowledge of aviation regulations that can develop the section’s organization and working methods to become more efficient. As a part of this role, you have to ensure a good dialog and cooperation with customers, project leaders and suppliers that interact with the section in our major projects.

Example of duties and responsibilities:

  • Effective management of the maintenance organization

  • Responsible for ensuring that the work in the workshop is carried out in accordance with current regulations and that a high level of flight safety is maintained at work

  • Ensure development and effective implementation of processes and procedures throughout the organization

  • Overall responsible for the work environment within the section

  • Ensure effective cost control, participate in organization budget preparation and effective implementation of it

  • Take part in calculation, preparation and negotiation of relevant agreements and contracts

  • Ensure effective safety and quality assurance implementation throughout entire organization

Your profile

We are looking for a person with a broad background from the Aviation Industry. Proven experience from leadership roles and good communication skills is a necessity. God knowledge of Part 145 and Part M/CAMO is crucial as well as knowledge of Safety Management Systems, Quality Systems and auditing processes. We think you have a god IT knowledge with experience from different fleet management systems, within this organization we use IFS “Sherpa” so previous experience from working with an IFS system is beneficially. You will work in an international environment so fluent English language, written and spoken is required.

Experience and Skills

  • Documented experience of leading qualified work teams.

  • Knowledge and experience from Aircraft Maintenance Industry.

  • Understanding and knowledge of EASA Part-145 or SE-EMAR Part-145 regulation.

  • Experience in MS Office and Fleet Management Systems

  • Demonstrate a credible, assertive and “can-do” attitude

  • Proficiency in English.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.

We work with a broad scope, spanning over the entire life cycle with civil and military aircraft, both helicopters and fixed wing. We specialize in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul, modifications and services for the entire need of an operator. We are located mainly in Sweden on several locations. Our main sites are in Tannefors, Malmslätt, Nyköping and Ljungbyhed but are also represented abroad. Support Solutions  have approximately 275 employees  today.
