Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse NY is searching for a dynamic, forward-thinking Manager of Contracts for the Surveillance US division. As a senior leader, you will optimize both your extensive US DoD contract experience and leadership skills to collaborate across functions. You will mentor a team of 6 qualified contracts professionals to drive results, maximize efficiency, and generate new business opportunities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure all current and future contracts within Surveillance are compliant with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or equivalent, including supplements, guidelines, requirements, and procedures and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for international pursuits and contracts. 

  • Oversee negotiations for domestic, international or commercial contracts.

  • Support capture efforts across the business by participating in proposal development and reviews.

  • Review complex domestic, international, or commercial proposals for compliance with requirements of Request for Proposal, with particular focus on identification and mitigation/elimination of proposal risk and contract execution risk.

  • Successfully interact with senior corporate management, customer executive management, U.S. Government representatives.

  • Prepare and present contractual terms and conditions analyses to senior corporate management, including risk analyses and mitigation options, business ramifications and opportunities, and negotiation strategies, while ensuring consistency with business objectives and corporate policies.

  • Support the Saab Contracts' vision and undertake the necessary steps to achieve short and long-term objectives.

  • Identify future enhancements to the Contracts organization in support of growth and strategic direction of corporation.

  • Resolve complex issues using professional concepts, company objectives, and/or industry best practices.

  • Participate in efforts to evaluate and improve existing processes and fill process gaps with appropriate documentation.

  • Communicate results concisely, both verbally and in writing.

  • Apply a global perspective of business environment and technology.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, Professional certification (CCM, CFCM, CPCM), or advanced degree (MBA, JD) preferred.

  • 15-20+ years of Contracts experience (or 18+ years with a MBA or JD) in the Defense/Aerospace industry.

  • Expert in FAR and DFARS, with working knowledge of CAS.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience, directly or indirectly leading groups or teams.

  • Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar defense contracts with USG, international governments, and large Defense/Aerospace contractors.

  • Demonstrated proactive contracts management experience.

  • Experience working with teams across multiple sites / locations.

  • Ability to contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

  • Must be able to travel up to 25% in support of program and business development efforts.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
