Master thesis - development of electrically conductive sealant
As a result of REACH legislation, the conventionally used electrical conductive sealant has to be replaced. SAAB is looking for a new environmental friendly, electric conductive sealant material which can withstand moisture without loosing its conductive character. Such sealants are used in various position where low electrical resistance is needed on aircrafts.
This Master Thesis aims at exploring new types of electrically conductive sealants. The project will focus on investigating the literature of what kind of sealant (non silicone, chromium or nickel content) that could be used and what is used by other aircraft manufacturer. In a next step the work will focus on development of a new alternative sealant by using conventional sealants in combination with additives. The sealants will be investigated in terms of its functionalities.
This Master Thesis is suitable for 1-2 students with interest in chemistry, materials science, physics or mechanical engineering.
You are at the end of your Master in Chemsistry, Technical biology, Materials science or Mechanical engineering and are about to start your Master Thesis work for 30 HP.
