Your role
In an era of rapid technological advancement, Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a transformative force in reshaping industry practices. At Saab we continuously strive to enhance our competitiveness and operational efficiency, and now more so due to the vast growing demand in the defense industry. We recognize the potential of AI in optimizing processes, reducing costs, and improving overall productivity, however we also acknowledge that the path to successful AI adoption is exposed to challenges.
Your role will be to help Saab Surveillance Production in Gothenburg explore the challenges that we as an organization face and have to overcome when looking at AI deployment. You will also contribute to making the strategic recommendations and decisions of where and how to deploy AI technology in order to benefit the business and define what capabilities are needed to do so. Hence in detail this master thesis aims at compiling a comprehensive understanding of the specific challenges hindering AI adoption in relation to the IT/OT landscape and provide a practical framework for categorizing and prioritizing these challenges. It also aims at specifying a roadmap for the initial steps in our AI adoption journey, including actionable recommendations.
This Master's thesis offers a unique opportunity to delve into the future of AI whilst getting valuable experience of working in a large company highly influenced by technology.
Your profile
This Master Thesis is suitable for two students with interest in digitalization, technology and management. You are at the end of your master program related to AI, Industrial Engineering/Management, Business Administration or other relevant field and about to start your Master Thesis work for 30 HP in January 2024.
You have a problem-solving attitude, meaning that you are solution oriented with a strong analytical mind, have strong interpersonal skills and have a “can do” attitude. You have a great tech interest and truly believe that digitization can increase efficiency and reduce cost. You possess excellent communication and presentation skills in both English and Swedish, since you will be facing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders that are keen on your results. Your default is “openness to learn” which means that you are constantly curious to develop yourself and your surrounding through new influences and new business understanding. Ideally you have experience and/or theoretical knowledge about operation and production, but it is not mandatory.
This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
