Master Thesis, 30 HP: Structural Analysis of Underwater Detonation
One of Saab Dynamics product areas are underwater products for the civil and defense markets. The products shall be able to withstand the tough operating conditions in the environment where it operates. This includes the ability to survive underwater detonations.
This Master Thesis aims at developing modelling methods to analyze and predict the loads that our underwater product experiences from underwater detonations.
This Master Thesis is suitable for 1-2 students with interest in applied physics and structural analysis.
You are at the end of your master degree in mechanical engineering, applied physics or equivalent and is about to start your Master Thesis work for 30 HP. Prerequisites for the Master Thesis work is fulfilled classes at basic and advanced level within the areas of applied physics and structural mechanics. You also need to have knowledge within computational methods such as the Finite Element Method and/or Computational Fluid Mechanics.
This position requires that the applicant is granted security clearance in accordance with national law.

You will be part of a unit working with Mechanical Development on Saab Dynamics whole product portfolio. The team you will join consists primarily of System Engineers, Stress Engineers and Environmental Engineers based in Linköping and Karlskoga The unit is part of the Business Area Saab Dynamics AB.
