Description of the master thesis

Network traffic can be protected on different levels in the OSI stack. MACSec is an established standard for Layer 2 network encryption. We would like our thesis student to evaluate Layer 2 encryption methods in peer2peer networks, find suitable solutions that are applicable in offline Windows environments, and compare performance to Layer 3 encryption methods such as IPSec, OpenVPN and/or Wireguard.
