Saab is a pioneer of new technology enhancing our customer’s capabilities worldwide. We offer our products, services and solutions in challenging markets to a wide customer base; governments, authorities and corporations. The Electronic Warfare (EW) Systems business unit (BU) within Saab provides world class signal intelligence systems and self protection systems for next generation Gripen and Globaleye among others. BU EW is looking for driven students who can give us an outside-in perspective of how we can improve our ways of measuring performance in our long SW development projects.
Description of the master thesis
In a rapidly changing world, Saab aims at being the first choice supplier of high-tech defence and security solutions. To help us excel our performance we desire insights and other perspectives in how we should assess performance and Earned Value during our long SW development projects.
The Master Thesis aims at finding the optimal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for our SW development teams and ideas on how we shall implement Earned Value management when working agile in fixed cost customer agreements. The complexity of Saabs businesses and environment shall be taken into account.
The master thesis will include a solid literature study on the subject covering the subject from different perspectives as well as an empirical study on how other industries operating in similar complexity are measuring performance. We expect you to be placed in Järfälla, Stockholm but some travels might be needed.

Industrial Engineering and Management education, preferably with an already completed Technical Specification (B.Sc.) in Computer Science.
