Job Description:
Saab, Inc. is hiring a Material Expeditor/Planner as we expand our team to support multiple growing business areas across North America. This role will make an impact as a critical contributor to defense, security, and manufacturing programs by being the primary interface for material expediting, material planning and scheduling the required materials through the Supply Chain life cycle.
Responsibilities
Expediting material to ensure on-time delivery
Actively interact with manufacturing, quality & transportation to solve material issues and set the right inventory levels
Identify possible material shortages against inventory plans and develops action items
Ensure parts are available on-time to MRP so that production can build through line of balance part tracking
Support supplier performance management
Manage MRP demand below master schedule inputs (BOM's are loaded, trees are correct, etc.)
Work cross-functionally to keep track of new product introduction with engineering teams
Create and maintain weekly and monthly reports for Supply Chain to support forecasting and release schedules for buyers
Understanding of the FAR and DFAR, processes and procedures with capability to drive improvements
Skills and Experience:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline
Minimum 3 years experience in material planning and scheduling with increasing roles of responsibility and oversight
Required Skills:
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP Systems and able to be power user
Experience in a manufacturing environment with complex systems
Strong analytical aptitude with a proven ability to analyze/interpret data
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and in particular a strong set of skills in Microsoft Excel
Possess understanding of Government contracting (to include FAR/DFAR) and key business processes.
Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, multi-task, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers.
Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills necessary in a team environment
Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with internal and/or external customers as applicable.
Effectively use problem solving skills and analytical thinking
Self-motivated
Ability to obtain security clearance
Desired Experience:
Knowledge/experience with Department of Defense (DoD) procurements and contracts.
Prior work experience in U.S. Government Procurement, Procurement or Supply Chain-related field.
