Job Description:

Saab's Surveillance U.S. Division in East Syracuse, NY is in search of motivated, enthusiastic Engineering students who are interested in applying their studies to real-world product development through a paid Mechanical Engineering Co-Op/ Internship opportunity for Summer 2022.

Under the guidance of Senior Engineers, Mechanical Engineering Co-Ops will:

  • Actively participate in the hardware development for Radar systems.

  • Work with senior mechanical engineers to design and develop models and drawings for various Radar systems.

  • Assist in the development of thermal and structural analysis reports.

  • Participate in internal technical meetings and design reviews.

  • Collaborate with mechanical lead for task planning and scheduling of own activities.

Skills and Experience:

  • Enrollment in an accredited degree program, with a focus in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Completed Sophomore year or greater at time of hire.

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

  • Prior Co-Op experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Willingness and excitement to learn and take on new challenges.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Solidworks is desired.

Citizenship Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
