Product Support Manager, Depot
Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Depot Manager to join the Customer Operations/ Product Support team, supporting worldwide customers of our diverse line of civil aviation, security, and defense products and services. The Depot Manager provides strategic leadership for the Depot as it works with other Customer Support areas, such as Customer Service, Technical Support, and Logistics, to meet customer hardware and information needs. This role requires collaboration with personnel from all areas of Saab as well as external vendors, and may call for occasional travel or on-call support. To be successful in this role you must be reliable and possess attention to detail, leadership, flexibility, resourcefulness, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities will include:
Management of Government-owned and Customer-owned property and records, and maintain compliance with federal requirements.
Communicate with and manage relationships with Customer Support, repair vendors, product development teams, program management, manufacturing, and executive management.
Analysis and reporting related to inventory, provisioning, and maintenance of Depot stock.
Management of physical inventory and cycle counts, and replenish inventory using Saab purchasing systems.
Assurance of accurate inventories, maintain precise, complete, and accurate records, and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate the provision of responsive support for hardware needs to a variety of military and commercial customers.
Maintain systems to track company-owned and customer-owned inventory and records.
Create and maintain performance metrics with the goal of continuous improvement.
Perform cost and needs analyses to ensure constant readiness.
Respond appropriately to customer issues.
Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Requirements, Saab SOPs and work instructions.
Provide mentoring and leadership to the Depot professional team.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a related discipline is required.
15+ years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated familiarity with Federal Acquisition Requirements.
Proficiency with computer systems and software such as Oracle/MRP and Excel.
Logistics experience desirable.
Must be reliable, highly organized, have the ability to multi-task, strong time management skills, and ability to follow up on action items and requests in a timely manner.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, decentralized environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Focus on providing quality support and accurate information.
