The role

As part of our Maritime group, the Project Manager – EPA Strategic Management Services is responsible for managing services required to support overall Enterprise Partnering Agreement (EPA) combat management system program management as outlined in the Strategic Management Services (SMS) tasking order.  


Further, the successful candidate will:

  • Define, manage and take ownership of the EPA SMS scope of work, including schedule, cost and quality outcomes. 
  • Establish, maintain and report on the Saab aspects of the combined Saab/CoA Program Management office.
  • Prepare, monitor and revise project plans, estimates, cost accounts and schedules meet the objectives of the SMS.
  • Prepare reports and present status to the Saab management team, including monthly finance statusing, forecasts, and steering committees.
  • Prepare the Contract Status Report and support the EPA Lead to present at customer reviews and meetings including System Reviews and Progress Meetings.
  • Manage Contract Variations and scope change.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Maintain the company resource data reflecting the number and types of resources required to complete the SMS and the timeframes in which they are required.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.7 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

About you

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Science, Engineering or in a Business discipline.
  •  Demonstrable understanding of best practice Project Management.
  • Experience in the leadership of systems and software intensive projects.
  • Experience in Cost Schedule System Reporting (CSSR) or related Earned Value Management system.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to motivate, mentor and provide guidance to team members.


As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
