The role
The Project Quality Officer is responsible for assuring the quality of Maritime Projects. The role will entail working with project and product teams to improve practice related to software and hardware development and focus on eliminating quality related risks for Maritime Customers.
Further, the successful candidate will:
Communicate with the Customer’s Quality Assurance (QA) representatives on QA issues
Conduct and manage internal audit activities on Maritime Projects and Product Teams
Accompany customer and third party audits
Manage quality requirements as defined in Project Plans;
Participate in internal and external reviews
Ensure creation, approval and implementation of Project Quality Plans
Initiate Corrective/Preventative Actions ensuring effective actions taken and closure
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
Experience with Software Development Projects
Experience in conducting internal audits and supplier audits.
Strong understanding of technical drawing details and related standards
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commercial acumen with the ability to recognise and optimise issues and identify key risk areas
Strong negotiation skills with an ability to influence people
High level of self-motivation and ability to organise and manage workload and coordinate with the requirements of internal customers
Working knowledge of the Australian Defence Industry contracting processes (desirable)
Tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience in an Engineering/Production related discipline
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
