The role
As part of our IT group, the Senior Applications Support Specialist will provide support for Saab’s business applications, tools and information systems used across Saab’s classified and unclassified computing environments.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Maintain the integrity and smooth operation of Saab’s core business applications and information systems;
- Troubleshoot and resolve assigned incidents or service requests whilst ensuring prompt professional service;
- Install, configure, support and maintain corporate and enterprise wide tools, systems, applications and technologies;
- Where appropriate, work with business stakeholders in the tailoring of commercial software products to meet specific business requirements;
- Work, communicate, guide, support and cross-skill with other members of the Business Applications team, and where appropriate within the greater IT group;
- Development, customisation and implementation of internal applications and/or systems to meet user needs;
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office and 9 day fortnight will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Expert knowledge, skills and experience working within an applications support team, or similar;
- Strong technical understanding and working knowledge of the following technologies: Databases (Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle), Atlassian (such as Jira, Confluence etc), Microsoft Sharepoint, Windows Server, 2008/12/16 DNS etc and Linux experience (Debian, CentOS, Red Hat, Docker etc).
- IFS, PTC Windchill, IBM Rational DOORS and Agresso experience (desirable)
- Experience with application deployment and release management;
- Fundamental understanding and awareness of information security and how this is applied in operational environments
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV2 clearance.
