Saab Inc.’s Surveillance U.S. Division is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Senior Configuration Management Release Professional to implement principles and best practices derived from EIA-649, EIA-649-1, MIL-HBK-61B as well as proven experience in the role.
As a seasoned, experienced configuration management professional, you will have immediate impact developing processes, mentoring team members, and analyzing and maintaining tools that support and automate processes for hardware and software release and control.
The Senior Configuration Manager performs change management analysis and interfaces with all functions supporting programs including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, Subcontracts, Quality, and others. You will be responsible for identifying, documenting, tracking, and submitting data deliverables; structuring and maintaining databases; and for tracking drawings, documents, other items required by engineering and program activity.
This position is flexible depending upon your experience, with the ability to work remotely (within the Northeast region) or onsite at our East Syracuse, NY office.
Responsibilities include:
Utilization of defect tracking and version control systems
Analyzing processes and recommend standardization solutions
Working with engineering to develop installation scripts and programs for installation of products
Working with project teams to determine an appropriate build schedule and then initiate the build and packaging process
Compiling and assembling software from source code
Supporting developers for software package registry and delivery
Work with development engineers to correct build errors
Lead CM processes audits of libraries, data, FCA/PCA
Coordinate Engineering changes ensuring approval requirements are met and implementation is managed
Act as the primary point of contact for program technical data, integrating with program teams to coordinate data deliveries in accordance with program requirements
Ensure standards for quality are maintained and content creators follow data identification, marking, review and release procedures
Implement process improvements across the CM discipline
Execute planned program activities in accordance with procedures
Analyze requirements, provide costing to proposal efforts and document CM planning
Proactively identify data errors and ensure accuracy
Interface professionally internally and externally
Perform data entry, manipulating/analyzing data as required
Proactively defines and implements tasks for self and others
May lead a project team
May be responsible for resource planning and scheduling
Skills and Experience:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
15+ years experience working in a formal Software CM environment.
OR
MA/MS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
13+ years experience
Required Skills:
Proven Configuration and Data Management experience
Demonstrated drive to research, identify and adopt innovative solutions
Demonstrated capability of employing metrics to identify opportunities for improvement
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate across disciplines and organizations
Experience with Adobe Acrobat or equivalent
Ability to multi-task and set priorities
Desired Skills:
Configuration Management Certification (preferred)
Experience with Teamcenter or other Product Lifecycle Management systems
Experience using the Atlassian JIRA/Confluence/Crucible tool sets
Experience with Unix, and/or Linux
Experience with Subversion (SVN)
