Job Description:
Saab, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, proactive Senior Contracts Administrator to report directly to the Surveillance Contracts Director. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of industry practices and experience working with commercial, foreign, and U.S. Government contracts. In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience with and demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with internal and external customers.
Responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day activities will include proposal preparation, pre‐contract risk analysis, negotiation, troubleshooting and resolving contractual issues, and administration of commercial, foreign, and U.S. government contracts.
Practice proactive contracts management, respond to inquiries regarding contract obligations/revisions, and initiate the documentation to authorize work according to contractual specifications.
Review complex proposals for compliance with requirements of Request for Proposal, with particular focus on identification and mitigation/elimination of “proposal risk” and “execution risk”.
Draft modified/revised language for terms and conditions in response to an RFP.
Collaborate with and influence other business areas without direct authority.
Apply knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, and identify required improvement to established policies.
Coordinate and manage the contracts volume as part of a major or complex proposal.
Determine appropriate flow down provisions for subcontracts and material procurement.
Mentor less experienced Contract professionals.
Compensation Range: $75,800-$94,800
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Required:
Bachelor's degree degree in Business or related discipline is required. MBA or JD is a plus.
~8+ years of experience directly working in a Contracts role or related field.
~6+ years of experience with government regulations (i.e., FAR/DFARS, ITAR/EAR, TINA, etc.)
Must be able to travel up to 10% in support of program and business development efforts.
Must be capable of obtaining a Secret level security clearance.
Working-to-expert knowledge of contracting concepts Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)/ Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS).
Demonstrated proactive contracts management experience.
Excellent internal and external negotiation skills.
Strong presentation, leadership and team‐building skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desired:
Professional certification preferred (CCCM, CFCM, CPCM).
Experience working with U.S. Government and foreign customers.
Experience working in Oracle, SharePoint, and JIRA.
Experience training less experienced Contracts professionals is a plus.
