Job Description:
Saab, Inc. in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking, proactive Contracts Manager supporting the Surveillance Air Traffic Management (ATM) portfolio. As a senior leader, you will optimize your extensive international, commercial, and U.S. Government contracts experience and leadership skills to collaborate across functions. You will lead a team of 3 qualified contracts professionals to drive results, maximize efficiency, and generate new business opportunities.
A remote position is possible, depending on the candidate and willingness to travel to create relationships and support business needs.
Responsibilities will include:
Oversee contract administration and negotiations for domestic, international or commercial contracts.
Lead a team of 3 Contracts professionals. Foster an environment of continuous learning and career development.
Support capture efforts across the business by participating in proposal development and reviews.
Review complex domestic, international, or commercial proposals for compliance with requirements of Request for Proposal.
Prepare and present contractual terms and conditions analyses to senior corporate management, including risk analyses and mitigation options, business ramifications and opportunities, and negotiation strategies, while ensuring consistency with business objectives and corporate policies.
Resolve complex issues using professional concepts, company objectives, and/or industry best practices.
Ensure all current and future contracts within Surveillance are compliant with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or equivalent, including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) for international pursuits and contracts.
Successfully interact with senior corporate management, customer executive management, U.S. Government representatives.
Support the Saab Contracts' vision of being business leaders and undertake the necessary steps to achieve short and long-term objectives.
Identify future enhancements to the Contracts organization in support of growth and strategic direction of corporation.
Participate in efforts to evaluate and improve existing processes and fill process gaps with appropriate documentation.
Communicate results concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Apply a global perspective of business environment and technology
Skills and Experience:
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree
20+ years of Contracts experience (or 18+ years with a MBA or JD) in the Defense/Aerospace industry.
Demonstrated proactive contracts management experience.
Experience working with teams across multiple sites / locations.
Experienced in FAR and DFARS
Extensive experience negotiating multi-million dollar defense contracts with USG, international governments, and large Defense/Aerospace contractors.
Ability to contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.
Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
Must be able to travel up to 25% in support of program and business development efforts.
Preferred Skills
Professional certification (CCM, CFCM, CPCM), or advanced degree (MBA, JD) preferred.
5+ years of leadership experience, directly or indirectly leading groups or teams.
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
