Senior Hardware Quality Engineer
Saab in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join the quality organization.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Contract Review/Requirements flow down and multiple Program Quality support.
Ability to estimate level of effort and associated costs used in Quality cost proposals and project scheduling.
Supplier Quality Management on assigned program(s).
ECR/N generation, review, and CCB participation.
Internal manufacturing product support (NCM’s, PCA’s, FAI’s, etc.).
Internal product/process audits.
Identify and disposition nonconforming material. Participate in MRB’s internally and with customers as needed.
Identify, communicate, and execute value-added process improvements/initiatives.
Influence activities during program execution in accordance with internal standards.
Oracle ERP database management.
Support Software Quality Engineering.
Support incoming inspection.
Support Calibration/maintenance of equipment.
Saab Internal Quality Metrics.
Continuous improvement of the Quality management System (QMS).
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality or related discipline is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
10+ years of relevant experience, with expertise with Department of Defense (DoD) a plus.
Working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) programs, procedures, and processes.
Working knowledge of “Quality System Management”, per ISO 9001:2015.
Working knowledge of SEI CMMI Level 3 V2.0 requirements a plus.
Technical knowledge of Electro/Mechanical products/processes and related special processes.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Excellent organization and time management/multi-tasking skills.
Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
ASQ – Certified Quality Engineer is a plus.
IPC certifications or other related industry certifications is a plus.
Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
