Job Description:

Saab is seeking a Senior Information Security Engineer/ Analyst to join our team in East Syracuse, NY. The successful candidate will work closely with the Information Security Manager, Information Communications Technology, and Engineering teams. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:

  • Plan, design and build security architectures.

  • Oversee the implementation of network and computer security, ensuring compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and procedures.

  • Monitor cybersecurity requirements for local and wide area network and associated network devices.

  • Perform security assessment of applications and systems using penetration and vulnerability testing.

  • Perform risk analysis.

  • Vulnerability remediation.

  • Configure and investigate security alerts.

  • Incident response using forensic investigation techniques.

Skills and Experience:

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity or related discipline required. Master's degree is a plus.

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in an information security/ cybersecurity role.

  • Extensive knowledge of the NIST Risk Management Framework.

  • Deep understanding of networks/ subnet masks/ gateways/ routers/ VLANs.

  • Tenable IO or other vulnerability scanning technologies.

  • Developing, applying, and assessing secure technical baselines for various applications and products (i.e. Windows OS, Linux OS, firewalls, switches, etc.).

  • LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory.

  • Ability to collect system operation/CONOP requirements from various business owners and develop a security architecture that meets the needs of the business while creating a secure system.

  • Cybersecurity related incidence response and post-event analysis.

  • Use automated patch management solutions (i.e. Microsoft SCCM).

  • Security audit log analysis.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior information security engineers.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team building experience in an international environment.

  • Ability to effectively define problems, collect facts, analyze solutions, drive and lead change

  • Must be a strong multitasker, detail oriented, and organized with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • IBM QRadar or similar Security Information and Event Management solution.

  • Department of Defense system authorization process.

  • Cloud computing security.

  • Container image security.

  • Familiarity with DevSecOps or DevOps industry practices.

  • PKI and certificate services.

  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification.
