Saab Inc. is currently searching for self-motivated and experienced Network Engineers to assist in requirements and functional analysis, systems integration, and test methodologies for Network technologies to support the nation-wide Federal Aviation Administration Enterprise Network Services (FENS) infrastructure transformation program including designing/developing the Broad Band Wireless (BBW) solutions.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work on leading-edge technologies to build and deliver a dynamic, highly available and secure airport surface wireless network for the Next Generation Air Transportation System. As a Network Engineer on the team, you will have the chance to work with a diverse group of internal and external team members, spanning numerous disciplines and all experience levels.
Your responsibilities will include:
Decomposing system level requirements to lower-level system elements and performing functional analysis.
Participating in the planning, system design, integration, and testing of network technologies that support our systems.
Participating in processor and switch selections.
Collaborating across multiple disciplines to provide an exceptional product and customer experience.
Demonstrating expertise in Software/Operating System Configuration, Network Design/Configuration and Troubleshooting.
Compensation Range: $85,000-$106,200
The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline is required.
CCNA or CCNP preferred (wireless concentration is an added bonus)
5+ years of engineering experience
3+ years of network design experience
Understanding of software languages, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings network specific artifacts
Experience with Cisco, Dell, and PoE (MOXA, Omnitron) devices, and network communications protocols and Network Security.
Experience with design and configuration of AeroMACS wireless broadband equipment and WiMAX communications standard is preferred.
