Job Description:

As Saab is building a new advanced manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN, we are seeking a Senior Product Engineer (Change Management) to facilitate changes both within our facility and with our colleagues that support our team from Sweden.  The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience in aerospace, and is able to influence others without direct organizational reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts change investigations to determine root causes and potential impact of internal change requests before initiated change with appropriate resources.
  • Participate as a member of the Material Review Board team and drive approved changes to completion.
  • Ensure changes are implemented with urgency and in the manner intended
  • Ensure changes consider risk within all functions and form mitigation plans with functional leadership
  • Secure buy-in from functional leadership and create awareness prior to change incorporation
  • Provide timely confirmation of change incorporation and address any unplanned impact
  • Drive continuous product and process improvements through collaboration with change incorporation resources.
  • Deliver a people first culture in alignment to Saab leadership vision.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree (preferably technical) is required. Master’s degree is a plus.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience, with knowledge of the aerospace industry and experience with Department of Defense (DoD) preferred.
    • Familiarity with aerospace specific components and change management processes preferred
    • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and general aircraft design principles preferred.
    • Excellent communication and team building experience working in an international environment.
    • Experience operating within an environment governed by AS9100 standard
    • Project Management Professional certification(s), and/or other related industry certifications are desired.
    • 3DX, Solumina, & IFS experience preferred.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
