Job Description:
Primary task is to coordinate the procurement, calibration and maintenance of the company’s test and measurement assets. Supports investigation of asset requests to determine best price and ownership/lease agreements. Actively manages the company’s relationship with our approved calibration sub‐contractor. Schedules and executes bi-annual onsite calibration events with calibration sub‐contractor. Coordinates the evaluation and repair of lab assets no longer performing to specifications due to normal use or damage. Ensures calibration certifications are organized and maintained for each asset. May assist Facilities in executing setup tasks in labs, production and miscellaneous test environments (installing cabling, lab furniture, ESD equipment).
Responsibilities will include:
Contribute to hands-on, cross-functional problem solving based in a wide range of other Quality Engineering support activities
Support process development/problem solving by integrating quality policy into procedures and initiating continual process improvement
Provide support to Quality Management System principles and processes:
Manage ESD equipment and work area verifications/compliance assessments.
Manage production tools and measurement equipment to ensure appropriate tools are calibrated and available to production when needed
Ensure any tools that are not appropriate for use are quarantined to prevent unauthorized use
Maintain tool register and manage tool calibrations and repairs as needed.
Deliver a people first culture in alignment to Saab leadership vision
Be focal point for internal and external calibration suppliers for assigned measuring equipment according to applicable measuring equipment register
Ensure that calibrations are not overdue for assigned measuring equipment, and inform users of measuring equipment recall for calibration
In case of nonconformity of measuring equipment, see that handling of the nonconformity is carried through
Create a well-balanced schedule for steady and routine calibration management (as to avoid large waves of calibration work)
Skills and Experience:
Essential Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge of electro-mechanic assemblies
Working knowledge of quality procedures
Well-developed interpersonal skills; capable in interactions with teammates, suppliers, and customers
Ability to balance multiple tasks and quality decisions
Ability to work with technical product/process requirements associated with electro-mechanical assembly
Ability to interpret and revise relevant documentation
Ability to be self-driven and deliver a high quality of work
Ability to drive and lead change. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience
High school degree or equivalent required
Technical degree or certification in the field of aviation assembly, mechanics, or maintenance is preferred
3-5 years of relevant experience
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle
Experience and/or certificate in IPC-610, IPC-620, J-Standards a plus
5+ years of experience with expertise of the defense industry a plus
Certified Calibration Tech and/or Certified Quality Tech certifications a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be self-mobile and able to stand for extended periods
Ability to perform physical tasks such as sitting, bending, stooping, walking, climbing, reaching during a normal workday
Ability to perform repetitive motions (such as lifting or assembly of parts) including the use of handheld power tools
Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds
Hearing and vision within normal ranges is important for conversations, and to receive ordinary information and directives from Production Supervisors and management as required
Ability to work extended hours when required
Citizenship Requirements:
Must be a U.S. citizen, Permanent Resident (green card holder), or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
