Senior Staff Industrial Engineer

Job Description:

Saab's Surveillance U.S. division in East Syracuse, NY is looking to hire a resourceful and skilled Operations Project Engineer to lead medium to large scale projects within Operations. The successful candidate will support Manufacturing Operations by working with key stakeholders to understand the scope and impact of projects and then set forth to develop and execute a detailed technical solution and plan. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing Capital Expenditure plan across multiple sites.

  • Development of sound technical solutions with regards to factory layout, cycle time assessment, and facility integration.

  • Working with subcontractors to ensure on-time and quality delivery of services.

  • Provide safety and quality leadership on the jobs including monitoring processes and related documentation.

  • Report project status and performance data to owner and team members.

  • Demonstrate effective leadership to facilitate smooth operation of the project.

  • Identify, manage, and document project risks.

    Compensation Range: $108,000-$137,700

    The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, Technology Management, or related discipline is required.

    • 8+ years of related professional experience.

    • Extensive experience with lean manufacturing and six sigma.

    • Ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize workload.

    • AutoCAD and/or Solid Works experience required.

    Citizenship Requirements:

    Must be a U.S. citizen. Applicants selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
