Software Engineer
The Software Engineer will undertake tasks assigned by the Software Team Lead. They will effectively manage its own workload and commitments, working independently or as part of a team.
Further, the successful candidate will:
- Design, develop and maintain software components and associated simulators
- Participate in the specification of software component
- Develop an understanding of the operational use of the associated system under development
- Produce all artefact required for deliverables and internal reviews
- Provide technical guidance to junior software engineers
- Participate in the generation of estimates for future software deliveries as required.
Senior Software Engineer
The Senior Software Engineer will specify, design, develop, document and test software components within Saab.
Further, the successful candidate shall be able to undertake the following tasks without supervision:
- Develop an understanding of the operational use of the associated system under development
- Produce all artefacts required for deliverables and internal reviews
- Evaluates software technologies and its suitably for design
- Perform fit-for purpose reviews of software components and documentation
- Perform integration and testing of software as required
- Participate in the generation of estimates for future software deliveries as required
- Mentoring, coaching and providing technical guidance to other software engineers
Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight, job share and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.
About you
Your skills and experience will include:
- Tertiary qualifications in systems engineering, computer science, or related technical discipline
- Experience in writing software requirements for software components within software intensive systems
- Experience in designing, developing and testing software components within software intensive systems
- Experience in at least one of the following software development languages: Java and/or Ada
- Experience in defect resolution of legacy software components within software intensive systems
- Experience in the development of HMIs
- Experience with the products, development environment and the tools used to develop and support software
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
