Would you be the new member of our procurement team for Saab Surveillance in Gothenburg?
Our team consist of 16 persons - strategic purchasers, operative purchasers and supplier quality engineers with a lot of knowledge, experience and drive working in close cooperation with our internal stakeholders and our suppliers. We are navigating in a challenging and complex environment since Saab is pushing boundaries for what is considered as technically possible. Good communication and planning skills are essential elements, as well as a positive mind and a high level of commitment.
You will be responsible for a range of larger complex subsystems including microwave products. Your main task as a strategic purchaser will be to lead the procurement related activities with international and Swedish suppliers. The work requires capability in establishing and maintaining long-term relationships with suppliers, together with the rest of the supply team.
Category Management for business area Surveillance
Managing your own supplier base
Supporting the Business Areas projects and programs with commercial responsibility and to continuously evaluate the market competitiveness of the current supplier portfolio.
Be responsible for negotiating, actively managing and further developing our supplier agreements.
Establish and continuously develop strategies for your supplier base and category. Drive cross-functional teams focusing on effectiveness and cost savings.
Assure that the Saab purchasing strategy, purchasing policy and procedures are fulfilled
To succeed in your role, you should be a person with a large commercial and technical interest and a high capability of building trust in external as well as internal relations.
You have a solid background in strategic purchasing of technical systems with several years of experience in negotiation and contract work dealing with international suppliers. To succeed in your role, you have to be able to act independently in these duties and be capable of taking own initiatives in the interaction with present and potential future suppliers.
Strategical skill with a high focus on the customer’s needs and satisfaction is of high priority in this role. You are a good listener who creates trust. You also have good project management skills.
Your educational background is probably at university level within electronic engineering, business economics and/or law. Excellent skills in English and Swedish, verbal as well as in writing are required. Additional languages such as French and German are valuable assets.
The position is based in Gothenburg.
This position requires that you will be approved in a security screening in accordance with the Swedish Protective Security Act.

Business Area Surveillance - provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection and protection. The portfolio covers airborne, ground-based and naval radar, electronic warfare, combat systems and C4I solutions and traffic management systems.
Sourcing & Production Gothenburg is a delivery unit formed of around 370 employees, where all of Radar Solutions sourcing and supply activities are gathered in one organisational unit. This unit is measured and evaluated for profitability, quality, time and cost.
